Deswegen befasst sich die Welthandelsorganisation WTO seit Oktober 2020 mit dem Antrag von S\u00fcdafrika und Indien, das so genannte TRIPS-Abkommen auszusetzen. Das w\u00fcrde bedeuten, zeitweilig f\u00fcr alle Produkte, die zur Vorbeugung, Eind\u00e4mmung und Behandlung von Covid-19 notwendig sind, den Patentschutz auszusetzen. In der Sprache der WTO hei\u00dft so eine Ausnahmeregelung \u201eWaiver\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mehr als 100 L\u00e4nder haben sich hinter den Vorschlag von Indien und S\u00fcdafrika gestellt.
